Taciturn Studios LLC respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of our website to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (17 U.S.C. § 512), we will respond promptly to claims of copyright infringement that are reported to our designated copyright agent.
All original content on this website — including book text, cover art, blog articles, logos, and code — is the property of Taciturn Studios LLC or its respective authors and licensors, and is protected by United States and international copyright law.
Reporting Copyright Infringement (Takedown Notice)
If you believe that content on taciturnstudios.com infringes your copyright, please submit a written notice to our designated copyright agent via our contact form with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Notice." Your notice must include all of the following elements as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (e.g., the URL of the specific page).
- Your contact information, including your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
We will review your notice and, if it meets the above requirements, we will take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing material. We will notify the user who posted the content that it has been removed.
Counter-Notice Procedure
If you believe that content you posted was removed in error or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to our designated copyright agent via our contact form with the subject line "DMCA Counter-Notice." Your counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or disabled.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or if your address is outside of the United States, for any judicial district in which Taciturn Studios LLC may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we may restore the removed material within 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action seeking to restrain the user from engaging in the infringing activity.
Repeat Infringers
It is our policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of intellectual property rights.
Protecting Our Own Copyright
If you discover that our original content (book text, cover art, blog articles, or other creative works) has been reproduced without authorization on another website, please notify us via our contact form so we can take appropriate action to protect our intellectual property.
